Ramblings with a Recipe

A little bit of background before I start telling you what I had in mind. Couple of weeks back my senior colleagues and I were discussing on how decisions theory could be effectively used in software architecture and how making these decisions “endogenous” to the software design is very important rather than keeping them “exogenous”. Okay! Okay! Omit this background part if its sounds too technical for you :-)

This kept me thinking, if this “exogenous”(from outside) and “endogenous”(from inside) could be applicable to life as well. Lets take the example of following a Yoga or diet regime. For most of us it so difficult to stick to the routine because our workplace and homes demand so much from us. We need to step outside of “who we are” to actually follow this. We end up spending thousands of rupees for few moments of quietness and relaxation. We spend hundreds of rupees to eat healthy food, which actually can very well be made at home. Is there a way to integrate and bring these activities into the mainstream of work and home(endogenous to our daily lives)? Is there a way to design working environments conducive to good health and well being. Is it possible to integrate yoga and exercises into our daily routine? Can we adopt peace, harmony, values and spirituality into our daily thought process? Could healthy eating be part of my daily diet? When it truly becomes a part of us, wouldn't we be totally ourselves ? It would be interesting to explore answers to these questions

So heres a simple recipe to embrace healthy eating into your mainstream diet
Ingredients ( for one person)
1 cup whole wheat grains
½ cup tomato paste or puree or fresh tomatoes
1 chilly
salt
black olives(optional)
½ spoon oil
jeera powder

Boil the whole wheat grains in a pressure cooker by adding 3 times water. It can be boiled in an open vessel too. Drain the excess water. Now add some oil in a pan. Add chilli , then jeer powder and then add the tomato puree. Cook the tomato puree for 2-3 mins. Then add the boiled wheat with some salt. Mix well. Add olive topping. You could also add a pinch of cheese powder.
This would form an ideal dinner. Its not too heavy yet filling. Also good for diabetic people.

More on the topic later...
