Flowers of the desert

The flowers of the desert:

The flowers of the desert
grow up on their own
no water, no rains
the seeds are just sown

Chilly winds prevail
Heavy winds blow
the flowers learn to bloom
without fear, without sorrow

No gardeners around
no people to care
the flowers learn to bloom
all by themselves, no efforts they spare

She looked at her son
Kissed on his cheek
tears rolled down
she was unable to speak

Son! you are like the flower of the desert
It is going to happen everyday
You have to grow up on our own
from home, from you, my ambitions take away

You shall bloom on your own
I shall be just a witness.. may be..
Perhaps, one day I shall stop and say
oh! how beautiful you have grown! you are mine! you are mine!

A Response Poem from Adi

Flowers of the desert be they
The desert so wonderful, so vast
so benevolent, so cruel
spares not any desire
and where ambitions wither away
like fallen leaves
And the flowers bloom
amongst the crumbled rubble (leaves)

The Gardener takes care
and Love is all that is
Let Love be blind
and desire not blind thee!
And the flowers bloom
in the Love that all is
